If you’re planning to attend the Watkins Glen Ice Bar, you can skate down the hill right to the door! The downside is, you’ll have to take off your skates to come back up the hill, but we can always bring down your shoes for you. They use over 25,000 pounds of ice, carved into ice sculptures and bars. I don’t know what a martini ice luge is, but you can bet I’m going to be the first in line to find out!
There’s a ballroom to stay warm in, where they serve complimentary local wine, beer, and restaurant tastings – along with music and dancing. What’s not to like? There’ll even be fireworks at the end of the nights. I know where we’ll be watching that – from up here on the hill, either out on our huge wraparound porch, or inside if it’s too cold. Two of our rooms even have their own porches where the view of the lake, or fireworks, is always magnificent.
