Plan a Relaxing Rendezvous

If you’re looking to leave the stress of the wedding and family drama behind, then a plan to relax is in order. We recommend a couple’s massage to both relax and connect at Rasa Spa in Watkins Glen. They also offer a variety of other spa treatments if you’re looking to make it a true spa day. If that’s not enough to put your souls at ease, then try a gravity defying float at Inner Peace Floats. This is a new experience for many of our guests, which they all love and some even say that it’s life changing! They also provide massages and energy work to add to the relaxation.

Heat Up Your Honeymoon to 4000˚

In nearby Corning, NY, we’re lucky to have the world’s largest glass museum which showcases the history of glass, exciting modern creations and all of the contributions to the world this small town has made. You’ll be able to see live demonstrations, and even take part in a hands-on glass blowing experience of your own. And don’t worry, if your self-made momento doesn’t turn out the way you planned, you can peruse the gift shop to find something perfect to mark the occasion. If that’s not enough reason to visit, the museum even offers a night of music, dancing and live demos every third Thursday of the month during their fun and free event known as 2300˚.

Let Your Love Soar – Sailplanes, Fast Machines & Birds

For another new experience, we recommend that you check out the National Soaring Museum, which works to preserve the history of motorless flight. While you’re there, you can purchase a certificate to be used on your own flight in a sailplane with Harris Hill Soaring. Be sure to check out their website for hours and important FAQs. If vehicles with motors are more your thing, then the Glenn H Curtiss Museum is a wonderful place to stop in. They are dedicated to keeping our local history of motor vehicles and airplanes alive. You’ll be able to see full-scale aircraft reproductions and even the V8 motorcycle which launched Glenn Curtiss to attain the “fastest man on earth” designation in 1907. If you don’t care for man-made flying objects, but you still want your hearts to soar, check out the Cornell Lab of Ornithology surrounded by the beautiful Sapsucker Woods Sanctuary in Ithaca, NY. This center for the study, appreciation, and conservation of birds, allows you to take part in behind-the-scenes tours and guided walks – all for free.

Celebrate Your Masterpiece of Love at Art Museums

If you appreciate beautiful things and like to discover them together, a visit to one or both of our favorite art museums is a must. Cornell University’s Herbert H Johnson Museum of Art in nearby Ithaca, NY, offers a wide variety of art from America and around the world for a global appreciation for art. For a quiet moment together, make sure to visit their Morgan Garden where you’ll be surrounded with peace and tranquility. For a more American experience, The Rockwell Museum in Corning celebrates artists who have contributed to the fabric of our own country, from native peoples to modern masters. This fantastic museum is handily close to the historic downtown with unique shops and eateries to explore as well.
